March 23, 2026 A Declaration of Dependence
Scripture: “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side…” Psalm 124:1
David begins with a powerful declaration that is repeated because it must be remembered, and ought to stir every heart: “If it had not been the LORD…” This is not just poetic language; it is a testimony of total dependence.
How often do we pause to reflect on where we would be without the Lord? The psalmist invites us to look back over our lives and recognize every victory, every rescue, and every blessing, because God was on our side.
Many today are saved, stable, and sustained, because of God’s mercy.
Today’s Reflection:
Where would you be today if the Lord had not intervened in your life? Take a moment and think about your life. Where would you be if the Lord had not stepped in? What would your life look like if He had not shown mercy, extended grace, and worked on your behalf?
Prayer:
Lord, help me never forget that every good thing in my life is because You were on my side. May I never lose the wonder over what God has done for me.
March 24, 2026 Delivered from the World’s Opposition
Scripture: “When men rose up against us… then they had swallowed us up quick…” Psalm 124:2-3
The psalmist describes the world as a force that revolts against God’s people; like a wild beast, seeking to devour, oppose, and silence those who stand for truth. We are reminded of real battles in this life. The world does not always welcome those who desire to live for God.
Jesus reminded us: “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18
There will be opposition. There will be pressure. There will be moments when it feels like the enemy is ready to swallow you up. But we are not left defenseless. The same Lord who stood with David stands with us today.
When you face resistance, you are not alone. God stands with His people. We are not prey, we are protected.
Today’s Reflection:
Are you discouraged by conflict, or do you see it as confirmation that you are standing with Christ? Opposition is real, but so is the presence of the LORD.
Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to stand for You, knowing You are greater than anything that comes against me.
March 25, 2026 When the Waters Rise Within
Scripture: “Then the waters had overwhelmed us…” Psalm 124:4
Not all battles come from the outside. Some rise from within. The psalmist speaks of overwhelming waters, as an image of internal struggle; the battle with the flesh. Our greatest difficulty is often not the world around us, but the weakness within us.
The flesh can feel like a flood, pressing, pulling, and attempting to carry us away. Yet the key truth remains us that: the Lord is still on our side.
Like a boat on water, we are safe as long as the water does not get inside. The danger is not just being in the world, but letting the world get into us.
Even when the waters seem to rise, they do not have the final say, God does.
God is able to keep you from being carried away.
Today’s Reflection:
What “waters” are threatening to overwhelm your soul today? When you feel overwhelmed, remember God is still in control.
Prayer:
Lord, guard my heart and keep me from being overcome by my own weakness.
March 26, 2026 The Broken Snare
Scripture: “The snare is broken, and we are escaped.” Psalm 124:7
The enemy is described as a fowler, one who sets traps, hidden and subtle. satan works through deception, temptation, and distraction.
But we have Victory because, the snare is broken.
When God saves a soul, He does more than forgive, He delivers. The trap is shattered. The hold of sin is broken. The believer is no longer captive.
This is the assurance of salvation and the power of God’s keeping grace. We are not just escaping, we are freed.
Reflection:
Are you living in the freedom Christ has given you, or still acting as though you are trapped? You are not bound, you are free in Christ.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for breaking the snare. Help me to walk in the freedom You have given me.
March 27, 2026 Our Help Is in the Name of the LORD
Scripture: “Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8
The psalm concludes with a declaration of confidence. After reflecting on danger, deliverance, and dependence, the psalmist declares where help comes from.
Not from man. Not from self. Not from circumstances.
Our help comes from the LORD, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
This is the heart of victorious Christian living: continual reliance on God. Every battle we face, whether from the world, the flesh, or the devil; we need strength beyond ourselves. That strength comes from the LORD.
Today’s Reflection:
Where are you looking for help today, and is it truly in the Lord? Whatever you face today, you do not face it alone. Your help is already secured in the LORD.
Prayer: Lord, I place my trust fully in You. Be my help in every area of my life. Help me Look to You, my help in every situation.
Weekly Reminder: “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side…”
Let that truth stay with you this week, and give God the glory for all He has done.
